Today this site gains a room of its own. Everything else here — the films, the pricing, the FAQ — exists to answer one question: who is this artist, and can I trust her with an evening that cannot be redone? This journal exists to answer it differently: not by telling you, but by showing you the work.
Why we're opening the doors
Booking live music is an act of faith. You are choosing, months ahead, the sound of a day you have imagined for years — or a gala your company gets one shot at. Most of what you can find to guide that choice is marketing, and marketing all sounds the same.
So this journal will do something simpler. After evenings worth telling, we will tell them: how the program was designed with the couple or the planner, what changed at soundcheck, what the room asked for that nobody had planned, which piece finally opened the dance floor. The unglamorous parts stay in — the load-ins, the technical riders, the plan B when a ceremony moves indoors. That is what hiring a professional actually looks like, and you deserve to see it before you write to one.
The rules this journal keeps
Three, and they are the same rules as the rest of this site:
- Only real events. Every entry comes from an evening that happened. No stock photography, no composite stories, no "imagine your wedding" filler. If you read it here, someone lived it.
- Names only with permission. Couples, clients and venues are named when they have agreed to be — and never otherwise. Some of the best evenings will stay anonymous. That is the correct price of working in people's private lives.
- Published when there is something to say. The rhythm of this journal follows the calendar of real performances, not a content schedule. No entry will exist to fill a week.
What you'll find
Notes from weddings — ceremonies, cocktail hours, the moment the transparent violin glows to life over a dance floor. Evenings with a different shape: galas, corporate launches, bar and bat mitzvahs, milestone birthdays. And from time to time, the workshop side of the story: the instrument commissioned from a word-of-mouth luthier with eight microphones seeded through its transparent body, the couture dress woven with light, the network of New York musicians she calls when an event needs more than one pair of hands.
If you are planning something — a wedding, a company evening, a celebration — read a few entries and you will know, better than any brochure could tell you, how a date with Sadie unfolds: the questions she will ask you, the way a program takes shape, what happens on the day between her arrival and the first note.

The journal opens today, which is why there is nothing older than this page. The archive will build the way it should: one real evening at a time. While it does, the rest of the site is already open — the films from real weddings, unedited, the instrument itself, how pricing works, and every pre-booking question, answered plainly.
